Chiropractic Adjustment

Your chiropractor has found joints in your body that are not moving freely. This can cause tightness and discomfort and can accelerate unwanted degeneration i.e. arthritis. Your chiropractor will apply a gentle force with their hands, or with hand held instruments, in order to restore motion to any "restricted" joints. Sometimes a specialized table will be used to assist with these safe and effective "adjustments". Joint manipulation improves flexibility, relieves pain and helps maintain healthy joints.

Myofascial Release

Overworked muscles often become tight and develop knots or "trigger points". Chronic tightness produces inflammation and swelling that ultimately leads to the formation of "adhesions" between tissues. Your chiropractor will apply pressure with their hands, or with specialized tools, in order to release muscle tightness and soft-tissue adhesions. This will help to improve your circulation, relieve pain and restore flexibility.

Dry Needling

Our exam has identified several small tender knots that have developed in your muscles in response to chronic strain. Your doctor will perform a procedure called Myofascial Trigger Point Dry Needling that involves inserting very thin monofilament needles directly into those trigger points in order to help relieve your discomfort.

Cupping Therapy

Cupping is a practice that involves placing plastic cups on the skin to create suction. Negative pressure is generated in the cup by attaching a suction device to the cup after it is placed on the skin. The suction draws blood to the area and is thought to relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and reduce inflammation. Cupping often leaves temporary round marks on the skin. We also utilize dynamic cupping in our office where we move the lightly suctioned cup over the skin to release adhesions and increase mobility.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is a method of encouraging the body to promote natural healing and improve function. This is done by inserting sterilized, stainless-steel needles into specific points located near or on the surface of the skin which have the ability to alter various biochemical and physiological conditions in order to treat a wide variety of illnesses.

Acupuncture can help musculoskeletal conditions including neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, headaches, muscle aches and spasms, pain management, sprains and strains and a variety of other conditions.
